GENERAL

What is the difference between the free trial and the free version?

Free Trial: This application version is accessible by every free trial users. Therefore, all information and data you place within this application can be viewed and accessed by other trial version users. Moreover, the system will not execute a good number of features as the data it holds is not expected to be actionable.

Free version: The free version of ePowerBilling is fully functional version with limited features. This version should satisfy customers with a very limited number of clients or invoices to produce. Yet, it will allow them to store private information and run a number of features.

UPDATES

When is the application updated?

Conveniently, the update process does not require actions from our users. As new versions of the application are available, your web application will automatically be updated for you. However, these updates are applied at a time that will be convenient to you. By default, updates are made at midnight, between Saturday and Sunday. However, you may select a different time, or manually deploy the update process if an update is available.

Do I need to logout when the application is being updated?

No. In general, our update packages do not require ePowerBilling users to logout. Therefore, you have the freedom to focus on your work and less on the logistics behind your operations. Still, it may occur that system maintenance requires no users to be logged in order to operate. In these rare occasions where this will be required, the following will take place:

  1. All users currently logged into the system will be informed that an update is underway and should therefore save their current work and logout. This message reappears every 2 minutes until the user logs out.
  2. The system waits until ALL users have logged out of the system and then undergoes a shutdown until the update is complete.
  3. Users who were asked to log out receive an email alerting them that the update process has completed.

Can an update bring changes to the system requirements?

In a bid to accommodate our customers, ePowerBilling holds for policy to keep a wide range of environments within our system requirement. As a result, requirements to change the hardware would be exceptional.

However, as ePowerBilling is dependent upon the Adobe Flash Player, we strongly encourage our customers to keep the latest version of this player on their machines. Then again, updates for the player are automatic by default and thus, will not require the customer to take initiatives.

As a precaution, clients will receive a special notification by email requiring their permission before making an update that implies changes to the system requirements.

Can I turn the auto update feature OFF?

Yes. This could be wise if an upcoming update involves changes to your environment for which you are not ready. However, strongly advise our customers to keep on the latest version of our application as it is a requirement to get support.

DATA SAFETY AND STORAGE

Where is my data saved?

Though your application runs in the cloud, it does ultimately reside in a physical location. As no physical location is safe against possible disasters, we operate daily backups of the data onto another physical location. As a large distance separates the two locations, your business data would not be impacted by the same disaster.

Is my data safe?

For our customers, security is generally better than under traditional systems. In part because we are able to devote resources to solving security issues that many customers cannot afford. Moreover, our robust system keeps a strong arm on controlling and analysing user accesses.

USER ACCESS

How many locations can use to access ePowerBilling?

ePowerBilling takes pride in the freedom its customers gain by accessing its service from anywhere. Still, ePowerBilling’s price model takes into consideration the number of users per account; therefore, the system keeps on the watch for abuses.

Users are expected to commonly us one or two computers. Therefore, while accessing from any other computer is allowed, the number of these accesses should be significantly lower than when accessing through your main machine.

Nonetheless, though the system runs analytics, it is a real person, a sales representative, who will use common sense to uncover abuses.
